"Emergency Powers"

It's been on the news that Congress is debating a bill that would give the President "Emergency Powers" over the Internet. There are already quite a few Executive Orders that have been signed into effect over the last couple of decades or so (in other words, Dems & Reps), that in the event of a national emergency - which could be almost anything - when these Executive Orders are put into effect, the President has control over the various departments of government! Authority falls directly under the President - ONLY - not the Congress or the courts.

So does it concern you that they are working on giving the President even more authority under the pretense of "Emergency Powers"? Do you really trust this President, or anyone in our government today, to just give up that much authority once they have it? Do you really trust the character of the President or other government officials that much?

People need to watch Star Wars Episode III, Revenge of the Sith - they dealt with the issue of granting emergency powers to their Chancellor. And, although he swore to relinquish the emergency powers once the problem was taken care of ... he didn't.

And once the "Emergency Powers" would be enacted, how do we know that the authority would not then be relinquished to the UN. I still say that the biggest obstacle (or one of the biggest) to the UN's goal for a one world government is the United States...because of our freedoms!
