Here are a FEW ways to help persecuted Christians through VOM
|
The Voice of the Martyrs is a non-profit, inter-denominational Christian organization dedicated to assisting the persecuted church worldwide. VOM was founded in 1967 by Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, who was imprisoned 14 years in Communist Romania for his faith in Christ... For more information about VOM, click here.
|
Restricted Nation: This includes countries where government policy or practice prevents Christians from obtaining Bibles or other Christian literature. Also included are countries where government-sanctioned circumstances or anti-Christian laws lead to Christians being harassed, imprisoned, killed, or deprived of possessions or liberties because of their witness. Hostile Area: This includes large areas in nations where governments consistently attempt to provide protection for the Christian population, but Christians are victims of violence because of their witness.
|
VOM gathers information about Christians imprisoned for their faith. VOM then provides a way for letters to be written and sent to them, to encourage them while in their bonds. They provide statements to include in the letter, which will then be printed in English and in the proper corresponding language. Additional comments may be included (within guidelines, to ensure safety), as well as photos or greeting cards.
|
VOM also provides the means to contact the respective government officials on behalf of the
|
prisoners, in an attempt to improve the treatment and conditions of those being held in prison. This is because, many of these
countries are concerned about their image around the world, and by writing them, they know that people are watching their
treatment of these prisoners.

What is Kids of Courage?
The Voice of the Martyrs publishes Kids of Courage (formerly LINK) materials for children 5 to 13
so that families and schools can include children in learning about and serving the persecuted
church. Kids of Courage publications are committed to:
 | | Educating students about courageous Christians and countries that restrict worship.
|
 | | Encouraging students toward greater spiritual growth by giving them examples of those |
| | who are risking all for Christ.
|
 | | Providing practical opportunities for students to pray for and aid today's heroes of faith. |
| | |
There are many motivating stories here. One in particular, is that of a young boy from N Korea, named Pencil. He literally risked it all
to share the Gospel, and through his sacrifice, he helped to save others. To find out more about Pencil, look under Spotlight, A
Pencil Gets Courage, or click here.

Even as you read this, persecuted Christians from around the world are gathering
names and addresses, of interested neighbors, from their local communities. These
names are then submitted to Bibles Unbound where members have the opportunity
to mail New Testaments, in the appropriate language, directly to the field. This
unique program gives you the ability to stand alongside our persecuted brothers and
sisters and help create a witness for Jesus Christ in hostile lands right from your own home. (Remember Daniel's brave faith, as
he continued to pray to God, even after it was mad against the law.)

Help the Persecuted Live to Evangelize
Around the world thousands of pastors, church leaders, evangelists and lay-workers
labor to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in restricted nations. Often they live in
destitution, their lives torn apart by attacks and persecution because of their love of
Christ. You can help provide life-sustaining necessities of food, clothes and clean
water to these warriors of faith, through VOM's PSP program...
