| I have read entire web pages on the varying opinions of exactly what the Sign of Jonah is, or what it means. They go into a good amount of detail to explain each interpretation of it. But what they seem to have completely missed, is that Jesus explained exactly what the Sign of Jonah is the first time that mentioned it. It is in Matthew 12:39-40, and He only needed ONE sentence to explain it. The sign of Jonah is Jesus death and resurrection. Which is why it is SO IMPORTANT that YOU READ the Bible for yourself, and do not rely on others to tell you what it says or what it means. I do believe that God intended for us to rely on each other to fully understand it, but that does mean that it requires you take an active role in studying the Bible for yourself, so that you can share your part of it. For if you never pray and study it for yourself, how do you know when someone is telling you right. You have to rely on God, and only God for true understanding of His Word. If you put your trust in Him first, then He will put in you know or to question whether or not someone is telling you correctly. |

| But He answered them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, an no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." |
