As a soldier sent into combat fights and continues the fight - and continues without reward ... for the hope of returning home to live in peace. So, we also should continue to work diligently for the Lord, and continue even without reward ... for the Promise of going Home to live in peace and to Receive our reward. "You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please Him who enlisted him as a soldier." 2 Timothy 2:3-4 NKJV "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful." Hebrews 10:23 NIV
It is not enough to pull your ship into Jesus' harbor and not lower the anchor; for a strong wind or storm will toss you back out to sea. It's like a flower in a pot. So long as the flower remains in the pot ... it can be moved or knocked over. But a flower that has taken root in the ground cannot be moved so easily. The stronger the plant grows, the more substantial the roots, and the harder to move. What can be seen, may be trampled or destroyed, but the roots still remain. "Jesus answered and said unto him, 'Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3KJV

Life is made up of so many things Some give flight to the soul with wings Others drag us down like a falling stone Good or bad we have to remain strong. Trying to balance it all out isn't easy. With God, family, work, and self to please, And dealing with problems and setbacks. It gets tough to keep your life and mind on track. For needs -- you cut back on trips, fun, and toys. For responsibility -- you cut back on what you enjoy. You spend time and overtime at work To make more money with few perks. Squeeze in family time and sleep for yourself And then go again while the Bible sits on the shelf. We look to God for His help and strength While the devil, to stop us, will go to any length. Work all day and then again all night; Your child gets sick -- then comes the fright It may be serious, but you can't forget responsibilities You go to work, hospital, doctor, then try to sleep. So many things have to be done -- right now With so little time to plan them out. A child at school, money's short, someone calls-in, Get everything done -- but where do you begin? We begin to just react without looking up Its' not that we quit or forget to trust We just get so caught up in getting things done We forget to first go to the Son. Lord, that's what the devil does to me I know I can do it all with You helping me, And that I need help is nothing new, Just, please, help me to always stay focused on You. Thank You.
