| Animals are big part of Sustainable Living and Replenishing. We want to help people to see & understand that animals are as much a part of our environment as water, trees, and the atmosphere; and just as important. The goal of modern life should not be to keep animals (other than pets) away from us and off our property. The goal should be to learn more about animals, what they do, and how to co-exist. Many animals, do naturally, what we use tools to accomplish, wouldn't it be working smarter, to let animals do what they do - instead of doing it ourselves? |
| RESEARCH |
| We were given charge of caring for this world. We should be living in harmony with nature, rather than trying to isolate ourselves from it, and prevent any animal or insect from being on our property. Instead of just trying to get rid of them, find out about them. You've heard the phrase, "Work Smarter - Not Harder." Well, some animals/insects are actually helpful, and sometimes necessary. In this age of the Internet, information is more readily available and easily obtainable than any other time in history. Plus, there are still places like libraries, zoos, wildlife reserves, nurseries, and more to help you learn what's good and what isn't. |

| Most animals/insects have a specific/useful purpose. Find out before you act. |
![]() | I can't stand spiders at all, but I do know that allowing them to be there, they help control the number of insects. And they
| do learn where it's okay to build a web. I had a spider from the side of a chair to a lamp, on the porch. I went out everyday, for about four or five days and knocked it down. On the fifth or sixth day, it had built the web on the side of the lamp, between the lamp and a pot. | ||
![]() | Bats have a bad image due to portrayals in movies, but bats, like spiders, eat insects (like mosquitoes). They are good to
| have around, to help control the amount of insects - naturally (no insecticides - which is healthier for you). | ||
![]() | People tend to try to keep squirrels out of their yards. But, according to boobooinc.com FAQ, squirrels eat insects if they are
| hungry enough. We put food out, in the back yard, for squirrels. It helped to keep them from eating all of the peaches out of the tree. I've watched them scratch at the surface of the ground. A squirrel has also been on the porch, digging in the pots. Other than the strawberries, it did not touch the plants, just dug into the dirt some - the only possible reason, would be looking for the bugs in the dirt (and I've not seen any bugs in them since then). | ||
![]() | "Squirrels are primarily vegetarians, living on seeds, nuts, fruits, fungi, lichens, buds, mushrooms, roots, pine cones,
| leaves, twigs and bark. They do not normally eat meat. However, if faces with hunger they have been known to eat bird eggs, snakes, and insects." - boobooinc.com FAQ | ||
![]() | I don't want mice or rats in or near my house any more than the next person, but just killing them all is not the way to deal
| with them. Rats, like buzzards and vultures, have a legitimate purpose. They are the "clean-up crew" in nature. People talk about land-fills getting full, but people don't want rats near the garbage. If rats were allowed to do what they do - eat garbage - there would be less garbage in the land fills. So it would seem to be, that the best way to deal with rats, would be for someone to find a way to allow rats to serve their purpose in nature in a way that people can live with. |
| GOD Always Knows What He's Doing |
![]() | GOD created this world and everything in it to co-exist harmoniously. Before you decide to get rid of a "pest" find out about
| them; what they eat and what purpose they serve. The benefits may actually outweigh the negatives, and look for a way to allow creatures to do what they do in a way that you can live with. Because just killing them all, will eventually kill people. | ||
![]() | With all known medical knowledge, they can find no apparent reason for the appendix, yet it can malfunction. And,
| appendicitis (swollen appendix), if not treated promptly, can be fatal. So just because an animal/insect's purpose is not obvious, does not mean that it is not necessary. |
![]() | Have you ever watched animals? They are amazing. That's why they can afford to have entire programs/channels devoted
| to showing animals. Besides being necessary for a clean & thriving environment, they are remarkable. | ||
![]() | Squirrels are actually clever little creatures, and an excellent example of perseverance. We have one bird feeder that is
| "squirrel proof." Well, one of the squirrels has figured out how to get to the food anyway & with out tearing up the feeder. I watched him getting food out of it, he dropped a few pieces to the ground for a buddy, then would eat some himself. | ||
![]() | Several years ago, I watched a TV program about Orca Whales and Great White sharks. Orca Whales have very large
| brains and are very intelligent. They showed footage of about 6 or 7 Orca Whales, on either side of a Blue Whale, working together as a team to overtake the Blue Whale. |
![]() | Greed is an awful reason for an entire species to become extinct. It is a bad enough situation, but you could almost tolerate
| it for a noble reason, such as keeping people from starving to death - but just so someone can put a little more money in their pockets or to have a trophy that few others have - is just absolutely deplorable. | ||
![]() | There are so many more species being driven to extinction! A few of the species of Animals included on the endangered
| list are Giant Pandas, Elephants, Polar Bears, Tigers, Monarch Butterflies, Bearded Vultures, Whales & Dolphins, Marine Sea Turtles, and Sea Horses. Sadly, there are so, so many more species on the threatened and endangered lists. | ||
![]() | We are supposed to be taking care of GOD's Earth and everything in it. Whether you participate in causing the extinction of
| animals or you just turn your head and allow it to happen, how will you be able to face Him? It's just like house-sitting for someone, and the owner coming back to their house - trashed! | ||
![]() | Greed knows no limits - nor does it care about impact! They only way to stop it, is to get involved! Make an effort to do
| something! No matter how big or small - every little bit helps! There are many agencies that you can donate to, volunteer for, or that have other tips and suggestions of ways to help. HELPING ANIMALS IS PART OF HELPING THE ENVIRONMENT!! |
| Despite the efforts of many organizations and governments, animals still get closer and closer to being endangered or extinct. Find out what you can do to help, before it's too late to save the animals we still have! |

| Squirrel reaching for bird seed. They actually seem to prefer the Sunflower Seeds. He let me get so close, you can almost see how muscular his little arms are. |
| Newly hatched birds in nest, inside the top of a TopsyTurvy. (The nest is built w/ a "cover", and it was hard to get lighting inside w/o disturbing the nest.) |

| Hummingbird Sitting in Tree Hummingbird flew to feeder, then flew away and landed in the tree, I guess to see what I was doing. |
